Uliczny bal przebierańców/ Street costume party

W tym roku 16 ulic i 2 place zostały udekorowane podczas tej najważniejszej imprezy letniej w Barcelonie. Początek obchodów Festa Mayor de Gracia przypadł akurat na dzień wolny, więc rano spacerkiem poszłam w towarzystwie mojego aparatu podziwiać przebraną dzielnicę Gracia.  To już moja trzecia przebierana fiesta, na pierwszą trafiłam przypadkiem podczas mojej pierwszej wizyty w Barcelonie (nie muszę chyba wyjaśniać, że była ona jednym z czynników, dzięki  którym marzyłam o zamieszkaniu w Barcelonie i chyba wtedy zaczęła się moja mała obsesja na punkcie uczestniczenia we najdziwniejszych nawet tradycjach Hiszpańskich), zeszłoroczne dekoracje możecie zobaczyć tutaj, a teraz zapraszam was na uliczny bal przebierańców (więcej zdjęć na stronie fcb).

 

Moim faworytem w konkursie na najlepszą dekorację jest Dziki Zachód na Carrer Verdi. Indianie, saloon, listy gończe, rewolwery, kondory.

Calle Berga w zeszłym roku postawiła na kurnik, w tym jest to ul., jest żółto i słodko. Kolorowo, za sprawą kostek Rubika, jest na calle Torteda, a zimno się robi na Joan Blanques, gdzie przenosimy się na biegun północny. Są pingwiny, płatki śniegu, igloo i Eskimosi.

 

Jak widać na zdjęciach, tłumy przyszły podziwiać dekorację, frajdę mają nie tylko najmłodsi. Ja sama na widok niektórych pomysłów otwierałam szeroko oczy.

Fiestas de Gracia noca przybierają inny wymiar. Są koncerty, zabawa na ulicy, z kubkiem sangrii czy cerveza w ręku. W dzień jest spokojnie, choć tłumnie. Są stoliki, gdzie przygotowane są zajęcia dla dzieci, albo gdzie dziadkowie mogą pograć sobie w warcaby. Fiestas de Gracia łączy pokolenia. Także poprzez zawiązania do starych gier czy starych magnetofonów.

 

Prawie każda dekoracja ma jakiś element „interaktywny”, przy którym można sobie zrobić zdjęcie i stać się tym samym elementem przebieranki.

 

Chyba nie muszę was zachęcać, byście kiedyś tak zaplanowali wyprawę do Barcelony, by wypadała ona w tym samym czasie co Fiesta Major de Gracia?

This year, 16 streets and two squares are decorated during this most important summer event in Barcelona.  The celebrations of Festa Mayor de Gracia started today, and as it happens to be day off,  I decided to take quite a walk with my camera to admire this year’s decorations. This was my third street dress-up party, I happened to be in the right place at the right time during my first trip to Barcelona (lucky my, I think it is when my obsession with traditional Spanish fiestas begun and it was one of the things thanks to which I really fell in love with Barcelona ), last year I couldn’t miss it for either, so you can check the post. This year I also decided to remember what it is like to be kid and be surprised all the time (more photos on my fcb page). 

 

Definitely the Wild West is my favourite decoration. On Carrer Verdi you can meet the Indians, enter the saloon, have condors flying above your head. Wanted lists, revolvers and all sort of small details really transport you back in time. 

 

Last year you could admire a gen house on Calle Berga, this year you enter a beehive. The street us yellow and sweet. Calle Torteda is colorful thanks to countless Rubik's cubes. You can feel bit cold on Joan Blanques, as you find yourself on the North Pole. There are penguins, snowflakes, igloos and Eskimos.

 

As you can see in the pictures, the decorated streets are really crowded, the whole families come to admire the fantasy and creativity. I felt like a kid with my eyes wide opened and a big smile on my face as I saw some fantastic ideas. 

At night Fiesta de Gracia transforms. There are concerts, street parties with a cup of sangria or cerveza (version low cost). During the day there are not that many activities, most of the people just came to admire and compare the decorated streets. Fiestas de Gracia connects generations. Grandparents can play checkers, kids can dance on an empty stage. And thanks to some decorations parents can remind old good times when they played Mario or Packman and has a cassette player. 

Many decorations have an “interactive" element  thanks to which you can become for a moment part of the street’s dress-up. 

I think you are already convinced to book a plane ticket and plan a trip to Barcelona at the same time as the Fiesta Major de Gracia of 2013.

Spacer po Gracia/ Walking around Gracia

Gracia- plątanina ulic, w których zbyt łatwo się gubię. Gracia- niezliczone bary i restauracje. Gracia- urocze sklepiki, wystawy, które zachęcają, by kupić jakiś mały drobiazg. Gracia-ogródki barowe na placach ( Virreina, Sol, Vila de Gracia). Gracisa- udekorowane ulice i tygodniowa impreza w sierpniu podczas Festas de Gracia. Gracia- dzielnica artystów, hippisów i wszelkich barcelońskich dziwolągów.

Mieszkańcy Gracia mają silne poczucie odrębności, do XIX wieku było to bowiem odrębne miasteczko. Mimo, że wydaje się głęboko katalońska, coraz więcej obcokrajowców decyduje się zamieszkać właśnie w tej części miasta. Znajomych mieszkających na Gracia niezwykle ciężko jest wyciągnąć poza granice dzielnicy, przez Patri dość często ostatnimi czasy mamy okazję spacerować po tej przesympatycznej i modnej dzielnicy i poznawać jej sekrety.

Zapraszam dziś na krótki spacer od Passeig de Gracia, przez serce dzielnicy, aż do Parku Guell.

Passeig de Gracia- jedna z najbardziej (obok Rambli) znana ulica Barcelony, to tutaj znajdują się 2 zaprojektowane przez Gaudiego budynki, La Pedrera i Casa Batlló. Adresem na Psg. De Gracia mogą pochwalić się też butiki najbardziej znanych i ekskluzywnych marek, jak Dior, Chanel, Vuitton… Tutaj mieszkała bogata klasa mieszczańska, dzięki temu możemy spędzić długie chwile na podziwianiu pięknych architektonicznych detali, misternie wykonanych witraży, bogato zdobionych klatek schodowych.

Gracia zapełniona jest mniejszymi i większymi placami. A jak w Hiszpanii jest plac, to znaczy, że znajduje się na nim kilka barów. W słoneczny dzień nie ma nic lepszego niż kawa/piwko/tapas/drink na tarasie, gdy promienie słońca muskają nam twarz.

Dla lubiących oryginalne ubrania, artystyczną biżuterię, alternatywne sklepiki, Gracia jest rajem. Do tego pięknie wizualnie witryny i niebanalne nazwy, po prostu trzeba wejść choć na chwilę i dać się skusić na jakiś drobiazg.

Do Parku Guell, gdzie zachęcam zakończyć spacer po Gracia, już was zabrałam, a dziś zapoznam was z mniej znanym budynkiem Gaudiego, Casa Vicens. To jedno z pierwszych dzieł wielkiego mistrza, znajduje się prze ulicy Carolines 24-26, rzut przysłowiowym beretem od Gran de Gracia. Tłumy turystów tu nie docierają, co pozwala nam w spokoju podziwiać detale budynku (nie jest on niestety otwarty do publicznego zwiedzania),

O barach i miejscach, które lubimy, będzie przy innej okazji (o kilku już pisaliśmy, więc zapraszam do przeszukania archiwum).

Gracia- labyrinth of narrow streets, where I tend to get lost too easily. Gracia- countless bars and restaurants. Gracia- charming boutiques, with cute window decorations that invite you to enter for a moment and buy a small detail. Gracia- terraces on charming squares (Virreina, Sol, Vila de Gracia).Gracia-decorated streets and a week long party in August during the Festas de Gracia.

Gracia-district that attracts artists, hippies and all freaks of Barcelona and surroundings. Gracia residents have a strong sense of individuality, as till the nineteenth century it was a separate town. Even though many catalan families lives here, more and more foreigners choose to settle in this part of the city. And if yours friends live here, you have to remember that probably they won’t meet you for a drink outside of Gracia, as they find it extremely difficult to leave its borders. Since Patri lives here, we tend to spend quite a lot of time wandering the streets of this charming district.

Today I invite you for a short walk from Passeig de Gracia, through the heart of the district, till Park Guell.

Passeig de Gracia, one of the most famous (next to the Rambla) and elegant streets in Barcelona. This is where two buildings designed by Gaudi, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, are situated. Most famous and fashionable brands such Dior, Chanel, Vuitton has their boutiques at this prestigious address. On this street is where a rich bourgeois class used to live, now we can spend a long time admiring the beautiful architectural details, stained glass windows, richly decorated staircases.

Gracia is full of nice squares. And a square in Spain equals at least one bar with few tables outside. On a sunny day there is nothing better than having a coffee/coffee/ tapas / drink on a terrace when the sun warms our face.

For those who like original clothes, artistic jewelry , alternative shops, Gracia is a paradise. Many visually beautiful window shops and their original names just invite you to enter, just for a little while, just to buy a little thing.

As I already took you virtually with by photos to Park Guell, where our walk ends, today I will show you another work of Gaudi. Casa Vicens is one of the earliest and less known buildings of this great Catalan master. It is located on Carolines street, a few steps from Gran de Gracia, but only few very determined tourists make it to see it. Thanks to their ignorance, one can enjoy watching the architectonical details, although only from the outside, as the building isn’t open to public.
